What are wax tarts and how do I use them?
Wax tarts are basically scented wax (candles) without a wick. You place them in a tart warmer to melt and enjoy the aroma throughout your home. They are a much safer way to scent your home rather than burning a candle with a flame.
What type of warmer do you suggest I use with my wax tarts?
There are many types of warmers on the market today. Some examples are hot plates (we highly recommend), a Glade warmer which has a warming dish (we highly recommend), lamps, lanterns, and even pluggable warmers that you plug into a wall outlet.
There are also many types of warmers with high and low watt bulbs. The 24 watt warmers will give a more intense aroma because the wax gets much hotter than the lower watt bulbs. If you want to make your tarts last longer, we suggest turning your warmer on, wait until the aroma fills the room and then turning it off. The aroma will linger for quite a while and your wax will last much longer.
How much wax do you recommend I use in my warmers?
We recommend using about an ounce of wax in each of your warmers for a nice scent throw.
Will I get the same scent throw with every scent?
No, some scents will be a lot stronger on scent throw than others. Vanilla based scents will have the shortest and mildest scent throw while others such as floral & herbal scents will have a much stronger throw and will last longer.
The scent throw is also based on the type of warmer you are using. Refer back to the suggestions for types of warmers to fully answer this question.
How do I store my wax tarts?
Keep your wax stored in a cool, dry, dark place such as a drawer, closet or cabinet. Store them in the original cello bags that they come in or any other type of cello or glass container. DO NOT store them in plastic such as ziploc bags. Plastic has been known to make the scent evaporate over time. Always store the scents separately. Otherwise, the scents will try to marry together.
What materials do you use to make your tarts?
Our tart wax is a soy paraffin blend which has an excellent fragrance retention with good cold and hot throw characteristics. We use concentrated fragrances which are the best on the market today. We load each batch with as much fragrance as the wax will hold to give you hours of fantastic aroma's.
What materials do you use to make your container candles?
Our container candles are a blend of soy and vegetable waxes. They have an excellent fragrance retention with good cold and hot throw characteristics. We have tried many waxes and just love the way this wax performs for us and we think you will too!
